One Black Eye
One Black Eye husky baritone singer Chad Parks has a voice often likened to a juicy porterhouse steak, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave and even at times Johnny Cash. No singer likes to be compared to others, but he figures its not bad company.
Having led a variety of acts from busking solo in Prague(after the Wall fell to a barnstorming gothic americana, evil-country, golem punk band, the Near Death Experience, in New York City (after the Towers fell) to recent collaborations further afield with one-eyed sea shanties, gut-bucket blues and agnostic soul hymns of the London-Paris based, Three Black Eyes, CP has now found himself (long story) in Hanoi eager to contribute to the growing music scene
Grown out of deep roots and eclectic tastes, One Black Eye can be anything from soul-filledexplorations of lyric and song to a raucous hell-and-back roof raising. Synergy indeed.
"I went to Thailand to study Buddhism, blast around on a bike in the mountains and 'defrag'from the past 15 years in NYC, then stopped in Hanoi to check it out (sound familiar anyone?). A lot going on here, love being in Asia, decided to stay for awhile, great vibe, great town, let'skeep shakin' it up. I'm honored to be welcomed to the Synergy crew and by the musicians I've met so far. Life, express, beauty, connect, do, celebrate – its all good as they say in the hood.
